= EditList =

Editlist is short for "Edit decision list" as used by the lavtools ( mjpegtools.sourceforge.net) aka linux audio video tools.[[br]]
In the editlist a list of files and in and out points of frames are kept.
With editlist you can do some basic nle ( non linear editing) but no transitions.
Veejay keeps an editlist per sample. this means one sample can hold multiple files (also called clips) or parts of a file.[[br]]
Editlists can be stored with an absolute path or a relative path.
editlists from mjpeg tools can be loaded into veejay instead of a real video file.

Please note that the MJPEG Tools' EditList is not 100% compatible with veejay ; Veejay supports up to 4096 files
in an EditList whilst the MJPEG Tool's supports only 256 files.

All actions on the EDL are non destructive and instant ; Cutting , copying , cropping and pasting portions of the EDL
will not affect your original videofiles.[[br]]
